The Oil and Gas Industry is one of the largest industries in Canada, accounting for 7% of our country’s GDP and over 30% of Alberta’s GDP and contributes significantly to our economy through employment, taxes, royalties and investments.

Oil and Gas is also a very exciting industry to work in, with its ever-changing technologies and continual growth. New technologies are allowing companies to reach oil and gas deposits that were once too difficult to access. Innovative technologies are also making the industry safer, more efficient and more environmentally friendly.

Because of the constant growth and innovation in the industry, there are many career opportunities in oil and gas, and many companies are recruiting skilled and enthusiastic employees in all parts of the industry.

Meet minimum industry general safety orientation requirements by completing the free 30 minute electronic General Safety Orientation (eGSO). The eGSO is based on the General Safety Orientation Guideline for the oil and gas industry, and all employees need their eGSO upon hire. Once you have completed the orientation, you can immediately print out your Record of Completion.

An eGSO Record of Completion is evidence to employers that you have the minimum information requirements needed to work on an oil and gas site. Take your eGSO today!

The eGSO (electronic General Safety Orientation) was developed based on the General Safety Orientation Guideline for the oil and gas industry. On September 23, 2013, an announcement was made by all six petroleum industry associations that effective June 1, 2014, an eGSO Record of Completion from Enform will be required as evidence of a worker’s completion of a general safety orientation. This will apply to both new and existing workers.

The eGSO is a free-online 30 minute video you can register for and take at any time. Once you have completed your eGSO, you can immediately print out your Record of Completion.
